Marion!! I'm sorry you had to go through this and very glad that things turned out okay! I'm a big believer in film therapy (did NOT know it was a Thing but in a very real way I feel like I did??) and really enjoyed reading this <3
Thank you so much! And yeah, I feel like a lot of us who are chronically online (or at least, screen-dependent) have been giving ourselves film therapy almost by default. It’s why I hate seeing glib headlines about how people who wind down to true crime or otherwise violent media are “red flags.” If violence is soothing to us, the red flag isn’t ours. It belongs to something or someone in our environment that we’re trying to process.
Thanks so much for sharing this Marion, and so sorry you had to go through such a stressful experience. I’m really glad you’re ok! And this was such a great essay — I always love reading your writing ☺️
The healthcare struggle is extremely present for me right now and that frustrating doc visit felt so familiar. Loved reading this and it makes me wanna rewatch Arrival now 🙏🏻🥺 and very glad you’re okay!
Thank you for sharing!! So poignant and humorous and relatable! Sooo glad to hear you are okay and hope you will continue to be well! The 1 disclaimer encapsulates doctors so well haha.
Thank you so much for reading!! And yeah, this whole experience put my limited faith in the medical field through the ringer 😅 but at least my primary care physician rocks 🙌🏽
oh man, the "I'll feel this later" crisis response makes so much sense!! glad you're feeling better.
also highly recommend the book version of Howl's moving Castle! it's different than the movie. and the audiobook is great!
Ooh thank you, I’ll add it to my list!
